The Accessory Playbook

It's hard to believe that we're halfway through winter already!  Here at Four Fifty Five, we took this past winter mission to break out some mid-winter floral accessories. Are you one of the negative nancies who thinks florals are a seasonal affair?   If so - you can stop reading, we’re only going to disappoint you.

With winter back on the horizon, we’re going to tell you to break what the menswear brass would call winter fashion.  Bring out the paisleys, bring out the floral, and bring out the stripes!  As long as you pair it correctly, you can bring back your favourite spring accessories to rock in the last half of winter.

First things first, grab yourself an Exhibition Tie and get that bad boy on top of your crispest, cleanest white shirt.  These knit ties are perfect for winter, and the earthy green is a great pair for all your winter shades of Navy and Grey. Next, pick up that classic Rexdale Square, a  must have pocket square for the season.  Notice the colourful nep pattern, another perfect pair to your wildest (or most reserved) ties and jackets. Lastly, a gentle reminder to #BringBackTheCufflink.  A personal suggestion, stripes on shirts say sailor, where strips on cufflinks say suave.  The Black & White Stripe cufflinks are the winners this season, so get yours while they’re only $10!

This second half of winter will go faster than you think, so in one breath, here’s what I’d prescribe to beef up your winter blues, and get your outfit into 2018 - A classic British Navy suit, a crisp white herringbone shirt - with the Spadina Tie, and a dark wood tie bar!
